Applying for a position

When you apply for a position that you desperately want/need, you want your CV to make such an impression that it warrants a second look!

So many of us apply for ALL the jobs on the internet, hopeful that someone will FIND us. The truth is, prospective employers are too busy to be working through less suitable CVs.

The big question is: How do you ensure your CV stands out?

Match your profile to the role. Make sure your education, training, and work experience align with the job requirements. For example, avoid applying for a Debtors Clerk position if you haven’t studied accounting, math's, or a related financial field.
Prioritize accuracy and professionalism. Ensure your CV is free from spelling and grammar errors it reflects your attention to detail and professionalism.
Present a clean, polished CV. Always submit a neat, digital version of your CV and bring a well-printed, flat copy to interviews. A messy or folded CV sends the wrong message about your level of effort and commitment.
Include a clear, tailored summary. Add a concise, targeted synopsis directly below your personal details explaining why you’re a strong fit for the specific role. This helps recruiters quickly understand your value.
Follow the application instructions carefully. Read the job posting thoroughly. If the online portal doesn’t allow CV uploads, look for an email address instead and submit your CV with all required supporting documents to make it easy for the employer to shortlist you.
